Mennonite Furniture Studios American Hardwood Heirloom Furniture
Workshop, Craftsmen, & Staff

Classic American Furniture, of the Colonial and Federal periods, was built to last by caring men who thoroughly understood their tools, materials and craft. Today, our dedicated Mennonite & Amish furniture makers undergo a long apprenticeship to develop keen eyes and skilled hands, and these expert craftsmen enjoy building Your legacy quality furniture with the same unhurried care - providing you with exceptional furniture and outstanding value.

However, Classic American Furniture was often compromised by the ability of the early craftsmen to work with hard woods, like oak and cherry, so that chair seats were relatively flat and the requirement to resort to use of softer woods was common.

Today, our Mennonite Furniture Studios Workshop contains modern CNC wood shaping equipment that allows us to rough out deeply sculpted seats and the uniformly symmetrical shapes that modern furniture buyers demand. This investment in modern equipment is an absolute necessity for us to offer you the quality furniture that you desire, made from premium American Hardwoods that can stand the test of time, at an affordable price. The roughed-out shapes that we produce are then handed over to our Amish Craftsmen for final hand-tooling before they use these components to build and finish your furniture completely by hand.

Then, our Amish Master Craftsmen hand-build and hand-finish every piece of our American Hardwood Heirloom Furniture entirely without the use of electrically powered tools. Each piece that they build and finish, using only hand tools like saws, planes, hammers, chisels, drills, sand paper..., is an act of worship for them and a true piece of modern hand-built craftsmanship for you.

Amish Master Table Craftsmen

No matter which tree species you choose for your table, every hardwood piece that comes out of our workshop is made from hand-picked premium-quality American Hardwood.

Our Amish Master Table Craftsmen use traditional hand carpentry skills and techniques like dovetails, mortise and tenon joints, using wooden pegs... endowing our hand-built hardwood tables with integrity of design for strength and durability, and of course the beauty of natural premium-quality hardwood.

Once our Craftsmen are satisfied that your hand-built table is the best that it can possibly be, it is sent to our Finishing Craftsmen where a stain color of your choice will bring out the natural features in the wood grain and a crystal clear finish will protect your furniture with beauty and durability.
